My name is Jonathan, online I tend to take the name Jon or "Lordy". Born in Norwich, in 1980, I'm a bit of a mad thing; I moved to Glasgow in around 2000, then to Leeds in 2001 (which is where I am now - yes this is all in the UK). I started with C64 BASIC in 1993, hit 6502 Assembler a year later, then went through the Amiga (Motorola 680x0) Assembler, 'E', C, C++, Python, then Perl route. My assembler is a little rusty now though :-) My favourite thing I guess is designing large-scale web applications. I can use [D]HTML, PHP, ASP, Javascript, etc and XML, and [My|Postgre]SQL. I would say that my 'contribution' to free software is pbsim (still a work in progress), a large site which is basically a *shudder* Pokémon battle simulator. It consists of an PHP-driven site (on an Apache box currently) which uses an XML back- end for languages, SQL for user accounts, Java for a battle applet, and C++ for a server daemon. There's also a mIRC script ;-) Another thing I'm currently working on are mircdrop, an eggdrop-type affair that lets you write a bot in mIRC script (Yes, yes, I know, but people keep asking me for it). This is written in Perl. Thanks to Ankh for this, I had no idea this site even existed!

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
