Notes: I am currently employed by MySQL AB as a Senior Release Engineer. My task is to build the binary releases of MySQL for all platforms and to create new binary packages. In addition to that, I take care of many of the scripts sourrounding the MySQL distribution.
I try to contribute to Linux/OSS as much as I can by helping others (e.g. on mailing lists) and by giving feedback and filing bug reports.
I started using Linux during my time at the University and worked as a system administrator at Comvos, a small internet company. From April, 1998 until April 2002, I worked for SuSE, Germany. where I belonged to the distribution development team.

I've now added a blog to my personal homepage. Let's hope I'll update this one more often than the one here :)
Went to Heidelberg over the weekend to celebrate my Dad's 60th birthday and to pick up a late wedding present. Now if only we had some more room in our kitchen :)

Much has happened in the meanwhile:
I will be visiting Linux Kongress later this month - I am really looking forward to this event since I did not get much of a chance to travel around this year... I initially proposed to give a talk about the people and projects of the SuSE Labs, but it got turned down for being not technical enough. But at least I get free admission to the event as a reward :)
Ordered a Laptop last week, a Toshiba Portege 3440. It was supposed to arrive last week, but the sender forgot to add the company name, so UPS was not able to find me. Bummer! I called them and gave them directions - hopefully it will show up today.
Tickets for Linux World Expo in NY are booked. See you all there!
However, I am on vacation right now and I just check my mail from time to time. Right now, I am in Montreal, Kanada, visiting a good friend and colleague here. We just arrived yesterday and already made a cool dogsled-trip through the north of Canada today. Great fun, even though one of my dogs managed to escape! Fortunately they caught him later on. But it is amazing, how cold it is over here! Brrr.
Tomorrow, me and Sabina will be visiting Dan at his new home in Ottawa. Let's see, if we get lost...
