Notes:

I'm a full time student at NCSU and work part-time for their stats department doing systems administration stuff.

In my free time (if such a thing exists) I work on random projects that I find interesting and think I can help in some way. Unfortunately, I've done a lot less with this recently than I'd like.

It's been a while sense I've written in here.. bad Jag! Let's see.. where to begin. Earlier this week the "official" notice came in that my boss will be leaving in just under a month. (May 19th is his last day) It's quite sad actually, he's one of the best sysadmins I know. Hopefully Cisco will appreciate him.

Other than that, work is going fine. I got a laptop to play with today. RH62 installed fine once I gave up on the graphics installer. Although X configured fine once the system was installed.. kinda strange if you ask me.

This morning I was reading bugtraq and got quite a kick out of this post from RMS complaining that people don't call Linux by GNU/Linux. He does have a point that there's more to it than just the kernel, but in my opinion he's asking for way to much and will just be laughed at until he stops demanding so much and acting like he deserves so much credit. The game is doing stuff to get noticed, not sending emails complaining about not getting noticed as much as you'd like. </rant>

I finally put some information up in the notes about me. You know how hard it is to find something decent to say about yourself...

Well, today was interesting.. err boring. I had to install NT on a machine for work.. several frustrating hours spent swearing at Microsoft and all its creation. After spending hearing that I'm probablly going to have to install it on several machines, I'm seriously looking into throwing a hd disk image onto an nfs server and making a linux boot disk to automate these installs for me.

Oh the irony of using linux to make the "total cost of ownership " for NT almost berable... Hopefully watching several machines have linux installed at the Installfest this Sat will help me get rid of this dirty feeling NT gave me..
