re: Guardian 1.08.02 "Online" front page, and continued inside.
The article is based upon the FBI's cybercrime investigators and their attempt to cull cyber crime by the use of "magic lantern" and other techniques, but it is more about the reaction of the "hacking community".
What are they on? Cant they see that what they are doing ignites the script kiddies to do what they are doing - and it is mainly script kiddies who are causing most of the problems. This program and scheme will never stop those hackers who are "proffessionals".
I dont think that the introduction of this (and the manpower and money spent) will actually solve/prevent anything. Instead the money would be better spent on educating the mass on what good security means, on what the danger is, and also on promoting other good "community" spirit.
Is this possible or am I just a guillible fool?
