Notes:

Well, I've had my MacBook Pro for 21 days now. I love it. I have migrated entirely to my mac, I take it from home to work every day. I was using Ubuntu Linux only at work, and dual booting Ubuntu/WinXP (only for games) at home, as I mentioned. Since getting the mac up and running (by that, I mean migrating my music, mail, IM, IRC, RSS feeds, documents etc), whick took far less time and was far easier than with any other machine I've had to date. I haven't used my Linux boxes either at home or work in 2 weeks. I get to work, unpack the machine and get straight to work - seeing as it was only sleeping, it takes no more than 30 seconds to get back to my desktop and on the WiFi? - I work with PHP/MySQL all day (Note to Zend, a Universal release of ZDE would be excellent). I plug it in around noon and keep it on the power till quitting time. When I get home, I take it out again and switch to TextMate to write my book It is really nice to have everything wherever I go. E-Mail, RSS, IRC, full development environment, WoW? and everything else I could want. PHP | MySQL

Welp... I've got a MacBook, and I'm so damn impressed. They REALLY have come a long way on this last iteration. I don't know if there are any other people out there like me, who were down with Mac during OS 9 and rejoiced during OS X but were disgusted at how fast the G4s became celeron like. I had a 12 inch iBook that became pretty much useless in 1 year. It just made me sick. I went Linux, and even went Windows for a year and a half.

Now, I went and got a MacBook, and man they have totally gotten it right. Not that they hadn't all along, I was just really frustrated with my customer experience and had to go out there and see if something else could do the job. They did the job, but they weren't the complete package. And to be honest, neither was Mac before the Core Duo was installed. I'm using Parallels with Win XP Pro and it's amazing. Best desktop virtualization I've ever experienced on a Mac.
