Article for explaining dangers of software patents to the unknowing...

Posted 20 Jun 2000 at 22:06 UTC by TordJ Share This

I've been asked by some of the great guys working for the cause of a software-patent-free Europe if I could help. I decided to write up a an article that could explain our (or at least my) concerns with software patents for the uninitiated and publish it on http://bladeenc.mp3.no . I've made the text public domain in the hope that others might find it useful to spread the word even if they don't agree with all of my views and therefore might want to change the content somewhat before publishing it somewhere else.

This is the first release and I know it could use some constructive criticism, so please post feedback here in the forum or send me a mail with any comments, including grammatical corrections.

Ps. You have signed the petition, haven't you?

I might be offline for a few weeks now, starting tomorrow, and the article won't be updated until I'm back online, so please check back on it in a few weeks time for an improved version if you are interested.

The URL is http://bladeenc.mp3.no/articles/software_patents.html
