Winter Top

Happy new decade of this new millennium to galaxy hikers everywhere!

To celebrate this moment, I recite a poem by my better half.

Winter Top

I’ve seen mists wash over mountain pass Plunging headlong where no man can follow Ice caps tiptoe across c liffs at malicious angles Fear death on broken rocks.

Where were you when I needed you Massive and interminable, A jagged permanance of snowy peaks Carving the sky with grim purpose Morose without the singing birds Forgotten of the spring.

The lichen doesn’t miss that holy spring of life Perched rocks can transcend days of loneliness An icicle stands watch against the cold Timeless, indifferent.

No vigil shall I keep in the frozen waste No callous monolith am I But to adore thee with all my past.

Naked Lunch, posted 4 Jan 2010 at 17:05 UTC by badvogato » (Master)

My other profile writes: "It starts with Naked Lunch of BottleRocket and ends with Virgin Birth"

Naked Lunch

In peat where the bodies are. Well I've said too much already Hyperfine structures and soft-made-damp; Lifeless, legless, a cozy nest of maggots And begging for that loamy bank On golden light of morning.

Some quivering slime that forever stains all it touches Asked if it could follow me around for a while. But how could I say no to that?

Hoary goat With patches of matted fur Is back to stay a spell At the foot of my bed The shedding and the foul aroma And biting visitors with its mouth of sores Sticking his hooves in the dessert Leering with dead eyes Upsetting the atmosphere, his hideous bleating And rubbing his balls on the carpet. (He was only gone one week.)

I'm so sorry I ate the crustaceans

so now which is the fly and which is the human

My only companions decay in the pit; Those are the only companions I want Because I am the False Holly - the dead ringers

yet i found Thee at last A flower in moonlight, she was there, Was rippling down white ways of glamour Quietly laid on wave & air

Virgin Birth

Not that I know for sure if Bible says so but that I know beyond reasonable doubt that modern scientific researchers firmly believed in its theoretical possibility under the new light brought out by tremendous progress made in Stem Cell research

Virgin Birth is not only theoretically possible for lonelyhobo, it has already been carried out for mice in 2004.

p86 The birth of 'fatherless' mice in Japan in 2004, with no sperm involved, supplies all the proof that's needed that our understanding of sex is in for an overhaul... p87. In the months following the successful completion of the Human Genome Project in April 2003 - a journey that gave us the DNA code of human life and now permits us to make the links to the DNA of all other life on earth, and perhaps beyond - stunning breakthroughs in stem cell research cast our epochal sexual affair in a new light. Several research teams reported that they had made mouse sperm and egg germ cells out of early stage embryonic tissue, called the blastocyst. The researchers then set about to see if they could make the world's first viable embryo from an artificially constructed egg and sperm that had been created from stem cells. Think about it: A species could then be reproduced from a synthetic cell. That is a distant prospect, but the robustness of stem cell biology is giving a new dimension to the technology of reproduction. It is not exactly sexual, through conjugation of opposite sexes, nor exactly asexual, through somatic cell nuclear transfer, aka cloning. Perhaps it is best described as 'stemsexual,' the making of new life by capturing a piece of the immense creativity of the embryonic stem cell before it begins to break out and form tissues and structures...

Stemsexual, in other Word, ILM + Agape ? 'Perhaps it is best described as the making of new life by capturing a piece of the immense creativity BEFORE it begins to break out and form decadent personality on the one hand and suffocating religious order on the other?

btw, Happy New Year to Raph and Seth.

Co-Founder Brin Pushed for Strong Condemnation of China, While CEO Schmidt Argued to Stay

Google Inc.'s startling threat to withdraw from China was an intensely personal decision, drawing its celebrated founders and other top executives into a debate over the right way to confront the issues of censorship and cyber security.

Google's very public response to what it called a "highly sophisticated and targeted attack on our corporate infrastructure originating from China" was crafted over a period of weeks, with heavy involvement from Google's co-founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

For the two men, China has always been a sensitive topic. Mr. Brin has long confided in friends and Google colleagues of his ambivalence ...
